The extruding arrangement comprises (a) a mounting block for the material to be extruded; (b) a matrix which is mounted at the end of the mounting block; (c) a counter die which is held inside the matrix during the extruding process; and (d) a press die which pushes the material against the counter die. The material which is being extruded flows radially outward and then axially along the bore of the matrix wall. An insert is mounted in the centre of the end face of the counter die. The insert protrudes from the end face of the counter die and is in the shape of a truncated cone. The insert tends to spread the material to be extruded outward.
