<p>The mechanism consists of a leaf (1) suspended by elements (5) on rollers (6) travelling along guide rails (7). The upper edge of the leaf carries an angle section (9), which with one leg projects into a slot formed by a Z-shaped guide rail (14) which is fixed to a sheet metal strip (13). The guide slot (11) created by the Z-shaped profile (14) is fitted with lining (15) consisting of a material which considerably expands under heat. A similar strip of lining (13) is fitted on the inner surface of the Z-shaped rail. Both strips are encased in a protective sheet metal sheath, to prevent damage to the expanding material, but arranged to allow expanding movement of the material until the gap is securely sealed.</p> |
