The ester (I) of (1-benzyl-1H-indazol-3-yl)-oxy acetic acid and the primary 21-OH gp. of hydrocortinsone, cortisone, prednisone and prednisolone is new. (where R1 i a single or double bond, and R2 = OH or O). Cpds. (I) exhibit a wide spectrum of anti-inflammatory activity. They can be used topically in the field of dermatology and systemically for rheumatic andallergic conditions.
