An optical reading device is for linear or angular scales in which the result is displayed in figures in a window without the use of scale division markings. The positioning of the figures on the scale and their size in relation to the window opening present the result in unambiguous form without the need for division marks. Reading is simplified, and also the production of the scales, which need have only the printed figures. To permit extrapolation between two values, the window opening (3, 4) may be twice as high as the figure size, with a central reading frame of the same size as the figures.
|
