The cap fits over a specially shaped neck of the lamp bulb and affords a safe and rapid change of the lamp. The contact leads are laterally brought out at the lamp bulb neck, which permits turning of the lamp in the socket. The latter is of such shape that touching of the contacts by hand is impossible. The transition piece forms an adaptor which enables fitting into old type socket. The secure fitting of the lamp in the socket is safeguarded by a clamping spring.
