摘要 <p>The exchange reaction rate in ion exchange systems is intensified by preventing a relative displacement of the fluid particles admitted to the bed until the discharge has been reached. The content of co-ions is kept constant by keeping constant the volume of the reaction fraction, of the admitted soln., and of the discharged fluid, and the content of co-ions of the admitted soln. This results in a higher exchange reaction rate and in a reduced consumption of chemicals. The consumption of counter ions, required for the regeneration, is very close to the equiv. value with the counter ions to be exchanged. The prods. discharged to the drainage system meet the strict regulations for environmental protection.</p>
