1454051 Platinum - ammonium - organosilicon compounds; hydrosilation; silicone rubbers SWS SILICONES CORP 2 Jan 1974 [2 Jan 1973] 00028/74 Headings C3S and C3T A Pt-containing ammonium organosilicon material is obtained by reaction of hexachloroplatinic acid with an aminoorgano silane or polysiloxane. It is useful as a catalyst for the addition of Si-H groups to carbon-carbon multiple bonds. In Examples 1-3 is equilibrated with cyclic [Me 2 SiO] 4 or condensed with a polydimethylsiloxane diol to give products containing one aminosiloxane unit per 3 OMe or OH groups and 36 or 192 Me 2 SiO units; to these are added H 2 PtCl 6 .6H 2 O in isopropanol/toluene. In Examples 5 and 9-20 the product solutions are used to catalyse the addition of various hydrogen silanes to alkenes to give and in Examples 7 and 8 hexene is added to a methyl hydrogen polysiloxane; and in Examples 21 and 22 a rubber is obtained from a vinyl-containing polydimethylsiloxane and an Si-H-containing polydimethylsiloxane.
