<p>A flat-bar knitting machine with two needle beds arranged in a V-shape and provided with latch needles has a needle sinker which can be moved along the needle beds and whose depth in the region which contacts the yarn and in its direction of movement when co-operating with a needle to sink a stitch in at least equal to the distance between the tip of the needle to the root of the latch. The sinker provided better control over the knitting yarn during the stitch sinking operation, thereby reducing faults in the resulting knitted fabric.</p> |
