The steering drag link (2) is not pivoted directly to the track rod (7) but meshes with a transfer level (5). The transfer lever is pivoted at its one end to the vehicle chassis (6) and to the track rod (7) at its second end. The steering ratio between steering wheel and track rod movement can be altered continuously in dependence with the vehicle speed. An adjuster unit (8) is fitted to the transfer lever (5). The transfer lever (5) is turned in one direction or another by a vehicle speed dependent electric motor (15). The transfer lever is threaded and carries a steering nut which corresponding to transfer lever rotation direction, moves the steering drag link either towards or away from the chassis pivoted side.
