A device for detachably and resiliently connecting a partial denture to natural teeth comprises a sleeve 5 fixed in the denture, a resiliently flexible guide pin 1 securable to the natural teeth and having radial movement within the sleeve and a compression spring 3 acting between an abutment 6 in the sleeve and an adjustment nut 4 on the pin so that it tends to draw the pin into the sleeve. The abutments are formed respectively by a nut 4 adjustably threaded on the guide pin 1 and a constriction 6 or a screw 18 (Fig. 5) projecting radially in the sleeve 5. Undesirable relaxation of the spring is prevented by abutment between the end of the guide pin and a threaded plug 7 closing the sleeve. Connecting devices are embedded in the buccal side and in the lakeal side of each denture. When a single partial denture is used, portions of the guide pins projecting from the denture are pivotally connected (Fig. 5) to a tooth crown 20 which is placed on a natural tooth. When two partial dentures 21, 22 replacing molar teeth on both sides of the mouth are used, the portions of guide pins projecting from one partial denture are joined to corresponding portions of guide pins of the other partial denture, the two joining portions of the pins being covered by a plastic sheath 8 which is disposed behind the natural teeth between the dentures and secured to these teeth by spring clips 10. Soft plastics material 9 is placed between the dentures and the natural teeth. |
