The monitor monitors in a simple manner any deviations from the given coding characteristics of an iterative A/D converter by feeding the latter with analog test signals. The level of the test signal is set so that the converter's digital output agrees with a given code sequence. The change in test signal level is fed into a computer to determine the deviation of the converter's coding characteristics from those required.
