1486885 Toner storage unit for photo-copier EASTMAN KODAK CO 12 March 1976 [14 March 1975] 10019/76 Heading G2H [Also in Division B8] A toner storage unit comprises a housing 2 having an opening (at base) for the removal of toner therefrom, a sealing strip 3 which, in use, covers the opening in the housing to retain toner therein and is separable from the housing to allow removal of toner from the housing, and a wiper element 5 which co-operates with a portion of the housing to wipe toner from the sealing strip as the latter is separated from the container. In the embodiment shown, strip 3 is doubled on itself the whole length of slide 6 and has a pull tab 16; the housing 2 has a cover 4 with channel members 18 which slidably engage a lip on the rim of housing 2, so that cover 4 protects strip 3 in transit. The hopper of the photo-copy machine Fig. 3 (not shown) has channel means to receive said lip and stop means to stop cover 4 as housing 2 is slid into the channel whereby cover 4 is removed far enough to permit toner to fall into the hopper on removal of strip 3 but also to keep resilient pad 5 in co-operative contact with housing 2 whereby strip 3 is wiped as tab 15 is pulled in direction 17. |
