The engine has a hollow turbine wheel whose walls hermetically seal a closed space in which a vacuum has been formed. The sides of the turbine are conical and reduce in thickness from the axis to the circumference. The circumference carries four equally spaced discs set at an angle to the wheel. Each disc slides in a cylinder perpendicular to the turbine wheel in which it is held by a spring within the cylinder. A cylindrical casing surrounds the turbine to define an annular space. An initial charge of compressed air is admitted into this space. Its pressure on the springs rotates the turbine, and the vacuum inside the turbine ensures that the action repeats itself.
