<p>The small dia. power operated chuck is supported across a full radial distance. Excess body material is removed, reducing rotational inertia. A radially movable weight centrifugally compensates a counter-block and jaw through connecting lever arms. An axially actuated sleeve (20) moves an operating block (28), through pivotted (46) lever lobes. Another lobe (40) engages with a weight (34). The sleeve bore clears turning swarf and a mating bush (54) excludes swarf from the levers. Between the jaws the body (14) is cut away for spindle nose screws (16).</p> |
