Strip material dipping device - with low speed entry and higher speed exit to and from trough

The device is for dip treating, painting etc. of flexible strip material. The strip is fed into the container (1) through motor (70) driven rollers (3) and forms loops round two longitudinal rollers (5, 6). These rollers are driven so that the loops move along them, the strip being dipped at least partially into a liquid in the tank (1). The average speed of the strip is controlled by alternating two modes of drive. The first mode has the input speed slightly greater than the removal speed, resulting in an increase of the length of strip in the tank. The second mode uses a much higher rate of removal, resulting in a rapid decrease in the length of strip in the tank.
