The drop-by-drop type flowmeter has a fluid inlet (8) and outlet (19) and two fluid passages (14, 19) with upper and lower parts. The upper part of the first passage is connected to the fluid inlet and a channel connects the lower parts of the first and second passages. A drainage or drip chamber (34) surrounds the two passages. A device with reference marks is linked with the flowmeter so that it indicates the level (H) of a liquid in the second passage. A thin disc (32) with an orifice is placed near the lower parts of the two passages so that liquid can flow out from these passages.
