The flat rope splicing components each comprise a stem with heads at both ends securing the rope strands together. The stem has a rectangular vertical section, joined by a small radiused portion all around at the ends onto the inner face of the head, which is at right angles to the stem. The heads are each longer than they are high, and each have top and bottom edges parallel to the large top and bottom surfaces of the stem. The ratio between the vertical section of the head and that of the stem can be at least 10:1, and that between stem width and thickness at least 2:1. |
