<p>A magnetically actuated switch is characterized by the actuating magnet being mounted exteriorly to the contact element which are isolated in a water tight box. Switch contacts (4) and (7) in a plug and socket embodiment are rounded in a sealed box (1) providing sockets (5). A plug (8) carrying male contact (9) which engage in sockets (5) also carries the magnet (11) which when the plug is connected, acts upon a mobile ferrous contact (7) and moves it against a resilient bias into electrical connection with the fixed contact (4). Alternatively the magnet is carried on an arm pivotally mounted to the box to form a switch.</p> |
