Protection plate for mortice locks in timber doors - is formed from high strength steel blank and held on lock's inside face to prevent forced entry

The mortice locks are esp. for timber doors. The locks have outwardly projecting, double-cylinder locking inserts preventing breaking in. This arrangement prevents forced twisting or breaking of the outside parts of the inserts. The lock cover (3) is connected to a high strength multiple thickness steel plate used as a lock cover. This high strength steel plate acts as reinforcing plate (6) and a lock cover with profiled opening for the cylinder lock insert (5). The arrangement cannot be detached from the outside of the insert lock since it is held by several screws (13). These connections are made from the inside of the lock housing which cn also be spot welds.
