The handgrip consists of a plastics tube (1) with internal flexible ribs (7) which leave a central opening (6) in which a tool such as a punch etc. can be held. The tubular handle has a flange at one end which protects the hand against hammer blows. The handgrip can be made to various designs e.g. a nut can be moulded in the handle in which a scribing tool can be screwed. A collar (15) which forms an extension of the flange can be attached to the flange to give further protection.
