WASHING EQUIPMENT FOR BULKY OBJIECT* PARTICULARLY AIRCRAFT

The washing installation for aircraft is mounted on a vehicle which is guided by programmed or model controlled drive units in each case over one area of the surface of the body dependent on the position of the wash vehicle. The movement of the wash vehicle is controlled by an electro-optical or an electro-magnetic laser system. The laser control is combined with an electro-optical distance measuring system which is used to assess the position of the body and to control the movement of the wash vehicle. The front of the photo-electric cell surface is partially permeable for the laser radiation so that it also serves as the reflector for the electro-optical distance measurement.
