<p>The warning light indicates worn brake linings and includes a light emitting diode (LED). It is connected in series with a resistor (R1) and parallel with brake pad sensors (BE) and a switch (S1). The switch (s1) is either operated manually or when the hand brake is applied. Since the diode (LED) has a low power consumption, the car battery does not get overloaded. When a brake pad sensor (BE), whose contact is normally closed, is interrupted, a current flows through the diode so that it will light up and thus display the warning signal. The switch (S1) is provided in order to check the warning system at any time by opening the contact.</p> |
