Collector inlet for steam vessel - has inlet box with collector ribs to protect fittings against erosion

The steam inlet device for steam vessels deflects the flow of entering saturated steam. The steam flow is deflected without being obstructed by the entering water droplets. The fittings such as heat exchange tubes are protected against erosion caused by impinging water droplets. A steam inlet box (15) is installed within the vessel at its inlet. This box has trapezoidal, widening cross section towards vessel chamber along steam flow path. The box walls have ribs (20, 21, 22) for collecting water droplets. These ribs are arranged at an angle. The steam inlet upstream of the box has also collector ribs (23, 24).
