1484939 Method of making brick slabs INST FUR ZIEGELFORSCHUNG ESSEN EV 12 Dec 1974 [13 Dec 1973] 53786/74 Heading E1B Brick slabs are formed of moist ceramic material with a plurality of apertures extending therethrough, the apertures being so dimensioned and relatively disposed that the slab can be considered as comprising a plurality of juxtaposed parallel tubes resting against each other with each tube having throughout its periphery a substantially constant wall thickness and drying the slab with warm air so that there is uniform drying of all the tube walls at any particular crosssection of the slab at any time in the process. The slab may be encased to provide drying flow over the outer surface or slabs may be stacked one on another or coated with vapour impervious layer so that all drying takes place through the bores. The coating may be plastic@ sheet, oil film, lacquer or glue.
|
