Cpds. of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addn. salts are new (where X is -CH(OR)-, -CO- or >C=N-OR1; Y is -CO-, -CH(OR1)->C = N-Or1, C(OR1)-CH or of formula (II) R is H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-5C acyl; R1 is H or 2-5C acyl; R2 is H, 1-5C aliphatic (opt. substd. by one OH or 1-4C alkoxy or acyloxy), 3-8C alicyclic, allyl or 7-10C aralkyl opt. ring substd. by 1-4C alkoxy; R3 is a value of R2, but if R2 is sec. or tert. alkyl or is alicyclic then R3 is H, and if R2 is aralkyl then R3 is H or primary alkyl; NR2R3 may represent pyrrolidino piperidino, morpholino, piperazino, N-alkyl piperazino, N-hydroxyalkyl piperazino, N-(alkoxyalkyl)-piperazino, N-(acyloxyalkyl)-piperazino or N-aralkyl piperazino).
