Linear half-wave rectifier for large frequency range - compares input voltage to earth in comparator driving controlled switch operating according to input polarity

A linear half-wave rectifier for small input voltages and large frequency range with high linearity, in partic. for use with measurement devices and for demodulation of amplitude and phase-amplitude modulated signals, is designed to overcome the frequency limitations caused by diode threshold voltage. The input voltage is compared with earth potential in a comparator whose output drives a controlled switch which either connects the input to the output or separates them according to the sign of the input. The input voltage is fed to the switch with a delay corresp. to the comparator delay.
