A box-like housing has a quantity of grease in it before a connector is pushed into it displacing the grease up channels formed by ribs 38 extending to the open end of the housing. The grease is spread over the top of the connector by flexible flaps 40 which may be provided with projections, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), to aid this process.
