<p>1484597 Cutting filter or cigarette rods HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO KG 5 Dec 1974 [7 Dec 1973] 52568/74 Heading A2C In a filter or cigarette rod machine shears 41 are provided between the rod-forming device 32 and the dividing device 33 to cut away the waste portion of rod formed when the machine is started up the shears being arranged so that they move in the same direction as the rod during their cutting movement. As shown the shears may be swung about a pivot point 42 by means of a motor 46. A guide curve 47 is provided on which a roller 48 runs, the move having a rise so that as the shears swing about the pivot one shear blade 44 moves towards the other when the shears are in a cutting position. In the embodiment shown the shears move through 50‹ but an embodiment is also described in which they move through 360‹.</p> |
