Passages 18, 19 are provided for the hot and cold liquid respectively which flows through an aperture 16, an annular sintered bronze collar 11, an annular chamber 10 containing a turbulence producing structure 21 and an annular chamber 4 housing a turbulence producing structure 20. Such structures may comprise a mesh, and are located on opposite sides of a plate 6 flexibly connected to a flange 7 by a rubber ring 6a. A low thermal capacity cellular structure 17 with walls 17a is positioned on one side of a portion 15 of a plate 12.
