1380658 Strap tensioning clip THEODOR SCHEMM 18 Jan 1973 [18 Jan 1972 11 Oct 1972] 2622/73 Heading F2G A lever clip for tensioning and securing a strap or ring 12, 19 comprises an elongate reaction member 1 having side flanges with bearing recesses 8 and an attached tensioning lever 2 also having side flanges 14 which mount bearing pins 15 receivable within the recess 8 so that the lever 2 is pivotable from an open position to a closed position against the reaction member 1 when the strap 12, 19 is tensioned. In a first embodiment, as shown, the entire assembly may be an integral thermoplastics injection moulding, the lever 2 and reaction member 1 being connected by a thin strip 3. When the lever is closed against the reaction member 1 it has passed the dead centre position and the clip is maintained closed by the strap tension. A locking member is receivable through corresponding slots 11, 18 to lock the clip. In a further embodiment, the lever, reaction member and strap are formed separately, the strap ends being looped through slots on the clip members. Bearing pins on the lever (30) (Figs. 4, 5, not shown), are snapped into recesses (8) on the reaction member which extends over more than 180 degrees. |
