The fruit harvester (10) especially for grapes, comprises an inverted U-shaped chassis with two front (22) and two back wheels, and driven by an engine mounted on the top of the chassis. The machine runs astride the rows of vines and is controlled by an operator from his seat. The chassis supports sections spaced a little part and carrying beater arms (29) extending backwards. The grapes are beaten by the arms so that they drop onto a receptacle (31) consisting of picker blades (33) at the back. The top surfaces of the picker blades (33) slope downwards at an angle of roughly ten degrees, so that the grapes drop onto conveyor belts. A lifting picker blade (46) lifts up those grapes which are positioned low down.
|
