The individual recreational watercraft for bathers comprises 2 floats (12) large enough to support the rider of the craft fully. A framework (18, 11) supported from the floats includes a bracket with a seat (17) and a mounting (13) for th propulsion unit permitting horizontal rotation. The unit consists of pedals (14) driving a propeller (16) in a protective cage via step-up gearing. Handgrips for control are fitted to the underside of the floats and the horizontal part of the framework is configured to hold the rider in an upright position. A protective cage may be fitted around the entire craft. The propulsion unit may instead be of the puller type, mounted on a tubular extension forward from the main frame which also encloses the drive shafting.
