<p>Rotating filter for suspensions or thick liquor slurries has constantly rotating round the filter cells with continuous discharge of the cake. The main shaft can be rotated constantly or at varying speed. The cake is spun off the individual cells by centrifugal force using high speeds. Each round cell has over the complete filter bag one or more wipers of an elastic material. There is a stationary pressure band against which the cells rotate and against which the cake is pressed. The pressure is adjustable. The cells are rotated at speed under the slurry and in this way serve as agitators. Used for filtering liquid systems of slurries and suspensions. Existing types of rotating filter have problems with difficulty of maintenance and changing the cloth. The filter described overcomes the problems and also avoids the need for separate agitation of the filter bath.</p> |
