<p>The locking device for a nut (3), screwed along a screw-thread against an abutment (2) fast on the screw (1), has a sleeve (4) surrounding adjacent portions of the nut and the abutment. The sleeve is pressed into engagement with axial serrations of the nut and the abutment, thereby securing the nut. The engagement may be established by forcing the unserrated sleeve into the free ends of the serrated nut and abutment. Alternatively the serrations may be provided in the sleeve so as to cut their way into the nut and the abutment when the nut is tightened.</p> |
