Double wire twisting spindle positioning device includes a servicing carriage movable along the twisting machine and having a drive mechanism which is movable towards the spindle rotor. The drive mechanism consists of a friction wheel driven by a brake motor in the same sense as the spindle, and the brake motor is tripped by an optical sensor when the latter senses the end projecting from the lap disc opening. The sensor is carried by a suction nozzle carried by the carriage and movable toward the lap disc. Used for stopping spindle in a predetermined position to facilitate catching and threading of yarn following yarn break.
