PURPOSE: To efficiently and easily attain conversion between plural coexisting serial bit streams and a single time-division multiple parallel bit stream by providing a converter constituted of plural storage elements and related mutual connection. CONSTITUTION: Three coexisting serial input bit streams (a-c) whose each word (0-2) is constituted of 3 bits are converted through a serial/parallel converter 10 into time-division multiple (TDM) parallel bit stream. In this case, the converter 10 is constituted of 9 storage elements 11 and related mutual connection, and each element 11 is arranged at the separately fixed position in a 3×3 matrix including a prescribed diagonal line. Then, when the three 3 bit words related with the three serial bit streams or the TDM parallel bit stream are inputted through a gate to the matrix, information stored in the elements which are not present on the diagonal line is transformed by the non-horizontal mutual connection. Thus, efficient and simple transformation can be attained between the plural coexisting serial bit streams and the single TDM parallel bit stream. |
