The stand-off forms part of a rope ladder used in climbing and has arms (A) contacting the rock surface, permitting standing on the top rung. The ladder has rope sides (C) and flanged metal treads (1), knots underneath prebent slipping. The top rung (1s) has a stabiliser arm (2) each side. These are made from L cross section light alloy, one side slotted to fit over one flange of the tread with the rear end butting against the other flange. The arms are assembled to the flange by threaded bushes passing through holes and tightened by a nut, the ropes passing through these bushes.
|
