<p>The ball bearing has a step in the diameter of the shaft and housing, so that the load path (1A, 2A) is at an angle relative to the shaft axis. The steps are shaped to form tracks for the balls (4) which are held in place by end rings (3, 6) both fitted either on the shaft or in the housing. The curved faces of the rings near the balls have a radius slightly greater than that of the balls and extend so that when fitted, the gap (Z) between their free edges is less than the ball diameter, to stop the balls falling out.</p> |
