A fuel oil burner has an air inlet 14 terminating in an apertured conical part 9 projecting into an oil pan fed from a regulator 7. The pan is provided with a shield 8 and a pair of nesting members 31, 35 which are rotatable by the knurled knob 43. The members 31, 35 are provided with helical slots 33, 37 engaging pins 38, 40 secured to the oil pan so that rotation of the knob 43 raises both members and rotates one with respect to the other. The inturned edges 46, 47 of the members 31, 35 are notched so that partial rotation will decrease the space between these members and the cone 9. |
