<p>1481810 Cephem derivatives PFIZER Inc 14 Oct 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 22873/76 Divided out of 1481807 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula and salts thereof in solution in an organic solvent; wherein T is a tetrazolyl group which is either wherein R is H, 2,2,2-trichloro- or tribromoethoxycarbonyl, benzyloxycarbonyl, or wherein R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are each selected from H, F, Cl, Br, CH 3 , CH 3 0 and phenyl; A is Br, and R 1 is H, (C 3 -C 6 ) alkanoyloxymethyl, 1-[(C4- C 7 )alkanoyloxy]ethyl, methoxymethyl or phthalidyl, and R 11 is selected from the same groups as R 1 or is a tetrazolyl cephem nitrogen protecting group or precursor thereof and is selected from groups of the formulµ and wherein R 6 is (C 1 -C 3 )alkyl or phenyl, R 7 is OH, CH 3 O, (C 2 -C 4 )alkanoyloxy or benzyloxy, R 8 is H, OH, F, Cl, Br, I, CH 3 , CH 3 0, (C 2 -C 4 )- alkanoyloxy, phenyl or benzyloxy; R 9 and R 10 are each selected from H and CH 3 , and X is O or S. They may be obtained by brominating a compound of the formula wherein the R 1 or R 11 substituent of the tetrazolyl group T is -CH 2 OCH 3 and, if desired, subsequently removing the -CH 2 OCH 3 group. The products are intermediates useful in the preparation of antibacterial agents.</p> |
