The ringing-tone generating system for telephone equipment, has each subscriber terminal provided with its own call current generator that comes into operation when that subscriber is called. Two or more diodes are connected in series between the two telephone lines, and two or more further diodes are connected in antiparallel with them and in series with a capacitor. The capacitor plates are connected to the supply voltage terminals of an astable multivibrator. The output of the multivibrator is connected via relay contacts which are closed when the subscriber is being called to the transmission path. The advantage lies in simplicity.
