<p>1503895 Locking screws; preventing tampering SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES 27 July 1976 [4 Aug 1975] 31171/76 Addition to 1369177 Heading F2H An adjusting screw 1 screwed into a support 2 is locked by a generally U-shaped spring clip 4 the two arms 5, 6 of which are held together to grip the screw 1 by engagement of their free bent ends 7, 8 in a hole 9 in the support 2, and unauthorized adjustment of the screw is prevented by a protection member 10 which covers the head of the screw, the protection member 10 having a projection 10b which engages in that portion of the space between the clip arms 5, 6 not occupied by the screw, and an extension 10c of the projection 10b penetrating between the free ends 7, 8 of the clip arms so that an enlarged end part 10d engages beyond the free ends 7a, 8a, the protection member 10 preventing removal of the clip 4 and being itself damaged-by detachment of the enlarged end part 10d-on removal. The clip 4 is of resilient sheet metal, and the protection member 10 of plastics. The free ends of the clip arms 5, 6 have lugs 7, 8 to extend through the hole 9, with barbs 7a, 8a to grip behind the support 2 when the lugs 7, 8 are released after insertion into the hole.</p> |
