1460164 Valves LABAVIA SGE 11 March 1974 [27 March 1973] 10839/74 Heading F2V A device for regulating the flow rate of a liquid in an outlet pipe of a hydraulic retarder in a motor vehicle, comprises a fixed centrallyapertured member 6 and a downstream axiallymovable centrally-apertured member 9. The member 9 is movable away from member 6 against the action of a spring 12 in response to increases in upstream pressure beyond a particular threshold, whereby the effective flow cross-section through the device is increased by the additional flow path established around member 9 via notches 11 therein and via holes 15 in a tubular stop 14. The main flow path through apertures 7, 10 produces an injection effect at holes 15. Adjustment can be effected by replacing the member 9 with one having a different aperture cross-section or by altering the spring force by modifying the number and/or thickness of spacer washers 16. |
