The pneumatic device enables a cord (11) to be drawn through a wake channel (12) leading into the interior of a container (4) with a conical vase (5) supporting the cord winding (10) centred on a spindle (6). The cord emerging from the vessel is guided by channels connected to the depression into which it is required to fit. Compressed gas is applied to the system and is blown into the guide channel (13). One end of the cord is free and is pushed through by the gas acting on its surface. The gas is released by a hollow spindle actuated by a pistol grip spring loaded plunger, the pistol handle forming an integral part of the cap unit attached to the upper rim of the winding container.
