<p>The hot dryer for a commercial tunnel type dish washing machine operates at relatively low air temperaturs, uses a mixture of external (4) and internal air (3), and includes provision for drying the interior air. A heat exchanger (12, 13) is deployed to condense moisture out of the interior air, and to raise the temperature of the external air. The energy extracted from the internal air is used to heat the external air. A bi-lateral heat exchanger is incorporated with each face receiving one of the two incoming air flows. After leaving the exchanger the two flows (8, 9) are mixed (G) and directed onto the dishes. The exchanger may be a thermal pump with the internal (3) and external airs (4) traversing the cold (13) and hot (12) sources resp. The internal air intake (3) may locate at the head of the drying zone and the system be contained in a single housing (5).</p> |
