This power switch is built on a triac basis, and has two series-opposed triacs (Tr1, Tr2) connected between the load (L) and the AC current source (Q). The control electrodes (St1, St2) of the triacs (Tr1, Tr2) can be connected to each other. This power switch has a high peak blocking voltage and is completely insensitive to voltage spikes. <IMAGE>
