<p>A luggage carrier for the rear of a bicycle includes a frame (1) made from wire bent into a rectangular with one end raised to form a step for a parcel, and with a curved inwards portion (3) in the middle of the other end (2). Cross pieces (5) act as a support for a narrower U shaped member (6) with its ends projecting rearwards. These ends carry buffers (7) and first ahead of them, each arm carries a hook (8). A flexible strap (9) can then be inserted under these hooks, and the two hooked ends (10) attached to the curved part (3). The strap is now positively retained so that parcels can easily be fitted underneath without releasing the strap. Normally, when a loose strap is used, the hooked ends tend to catch in the spokes of the wheel.</p> |
