The equipment enables a defined location to be obtained for three or more relatively adjustable components uses a permanent magnet (4) on the inner edges of a rotating plate (1) which fits inside a weighbridge (3) with hinged edge fittings (2). A holder (5) extending beneath the magnet retains two pole pieces (7) which form a magnetic circuit closed by a magnetic switch (6). The design has special applications to the turntables of rail tracked vehicles where the magnetic system may be used to lock the mechanism in the desired location.
