A suitable coating material is powdered ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer which may be fused at 120‹C after coating. A sand filled coating layer may be employed, preferably overlying an unfilled layer line or both surfaces may be coated and the product may be used for insulation in wall cladding and roofing. Polyethylene powder coatings may be applied and fused at 170‹C. Insulated flooring is prepared by coating cement on the fibre containing polypropylene. Waterproofed material may be prepared by melting a layer of 20% ethylene/vinyl acetate polymer and 80% bitumen on the extrudate. Fillers may be added to the coating. Plaster/ water mixtures may be coated on to the extrudate. A chair may be coated with thermoplastic powder containing a blowing agent. The coating is smoothed over the powder fused at 200‹C to activate the blowing agent. A sheet of fibre expanded polypropylene may be coated with PVC powder containing a blowing agent. Activation of 190‹C in contact with a glass plate produced a spongy foam layer. The extrudate may be machined or calendered before coating.
