Upper cage 3, driven through gearing 4 on a central column 1, has drag arms 5, 6 and cables 16 and 17 which support arms 11 and 12 and scraper blades 15. Towing cables 18 attached to arms 5 and 6 drag scraper arms 11, 12 and if obstruction of the scraper causes cage 8 to lay behind cage 3, cables 18 tighten pivoting the scraper arms (as shown by dotted lines), pulley 21 compensating cable length differences. Cage 8 is suspended by rollers 9 from monorail 7 and carries scrapers 22 for central well 23. Driven carriage 3 is set above liquid level 10.</p> |
